1988 Porsche 911 Carrera G50 Cabriolet in Venetian Blue Metallic.
1988 Porsche 911 Carrera G50 Cabriolet finished in Venetian Blue Metallic with Dark Blue Leather interior and Soft Top. Driven just 50,748 miles since delivered new to it’s one and only owner. This incredibly beautiful example still retains all of it’s original paint.
A friend and fellow Porsche enthusiast called to tell me he knew of a one owner car in his neighborhood that he believed was for sale. It belonged to a neighbor who’s husband had passed away. His wife held onto the car for a while before she could bring herself to part with it. I had the opportunity to meet the late owners wife and she proceeded to tell me how her husband had to fly to Florida to buy this Cabriolet in 1988 as finding a Venetian Blue with Blue Leather and Soft Top car was not an easy task. He insisted on a Venetian Blue car as that color was the exact color of his wife’s Elizabeth Taylor like Blue/Grey eyes. Having met her, I saw that the color was in fact, an exact match.
She was pleased to find out that I was fully prepared to bring the car back to it’s original condition and address all of it’s needs after having sat for several years.
Over the past few months, we have fully serviced the car, replaced fuel lines, replaced all four tires, fitted a new correct German canvas soft top, removed all dings, performed a full major detail and address all of it’s needs.
The results were even better than we expected. After a lengthy drive, I am pleased to say that this car now drives every bit as good as it did the day it left the factory. Everything works as it should. There are no squeaks or rattles, the air conditioning works and blows cold, the original Blaupunkt radio remains fitted and works, all the original Fuchs alloy wheels have the correct anodized finish, the new canvas soft top fits perfectly and the electric operation is flawless, the seats have never been resprayed and remain soft and supple and the engine and five speed manual transmission operate beautifully.
Accompanying the car with it’s sale is the original window sticker, a full service history, all books and original keys, the soft top boot, a full tool kit and air compressor.
The car is once again ready for it’s next caretaker to love and care for her for another 30 years or more.
